WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — After a father of four lost his life unexpectedly earlier this week , his family is imploring the community for support.

A 28-year-old Wichita Falls man, who has ties to a popular Wichita Falls restaurant, was killed in an accidental shooting in the 100 block of Patterson Street just before midnight on Monday, May 6.

According to the GoFundMe page , the victim’s wife suffered a rough pregnancy, forcing her to step away from work.

As the victim was the family’s sole income provider at the time of his death, his family has set up a GoFundMe in hopes of community support to help cover the costs of funeral expenses.

“We are asking at this time for donations for funeral [costs] and for her bills, she needs to catch up on and bills that will be coming in since she still has not healed from her pregnancy,” the page stated.

The victim leaves behind his wife and four kids, aged 7, 4, 2, and 2 weeks old.

The family said any donation helps and has asked the community to keep them in their prayers.

The family has also organized two fundraisers: one on Friday, May 10, from 2 p.m. until sold out and the other on Saturday, May 11, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Both will be at Gutierrez Family Restaurant at 513 N Martin Luther King Blvd.

On Friday, the family will serve tacos and pork plates; each Birria taco will be $3.50 and each pork Guisada plate, with rice, beans and soda, will be $15.

On Saturday, the family will be serving burgers; each plate, featuring a burger, baked beans, chips and soda, will be $15. Aguas Frescas will also be available for $6 per cup.

A celebration of life ceremony has not yet been publically announced as of the publication of this story.
