A grand jury has indicted a Wichita Falls man on charges he shot and killed his big brother, Stanley Ralicki, and fired his gun at another man, according to court documents.

Raymond Robert Ralicki, 61, was arrested Feb. 22 when police found his 69-year-old brother dead from a gunshot wound in the backyard of Raymond's home on Marsha Lane. He was charged with murder and aggravated assault.

He was being held Thursday in the Wichita County Jail in lieu of a total of $250,000 bail, according to online jail records.

A Wichita County grand jury returned the indictments against Raymond on May 1.

Allegations in court affidavits filed in the case indicate Stanley and a friend had come to Wichita Falls to help Raymond move to Arizona.

Stanley had urged Raymond to hurry, which spurred the suspect to shoot the victim twice, according to allegations in the affidavits.

Stanley’s companion, Curtis Cremona, told police Raymond had shot at him twice but missed. Cremona called 911.

Officers arrived to find Raymond in the front yard with his gun, according to allegations. He first refused orders to drop it and then yelled for the officers to shoot him, saying he was going to prison for the rest of his life and would rather be dead.

"I snapped. I should have shot myself instead," he said, according to allegations.
