WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Expect cooler temperatures through the area, all thanks to yesterday’s cold front. Morning and afternoon temperatures will run about 10 degrees cooler throughout the days with afternoon highs peaking into the mid-70s.

A couple of isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible along the southeastern parts of the viewing area with better rain chances in locations like Bowie, Jacksboro, and Graham. Most of Texoma will stay dry with increased cloud coverage.

It will be drier for Friday, as storm activity will continue to move eastward and out of the region, leading to partly cloudy skies to finish the workweek. Temperatures will stay in the upper 70s for afternoon highs and rain chances will start to increase going into the weekend.

This weekend, moisture and instability will move into the region from the west late on Saturday. That will increase the rain chances for the weekend with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected late on Saturday and lingering throughout the day on Sunday, before beginning to clear out on Monday.

Temperatures will increase to start next week with afternoon highs climbing back up into the 80s and upper 80s by midweek.
