WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Signs warning that trespassers will be prosecuted and police patrols have not deterred transients from entering and reentering a closed Wichita Falls hotel on Central Freeway.

Two men have been jailed less than a month since their last arrests for trespassing at the same location, the La Quinta Hotel.

Two weeks ago, two WFPD officers were injured while trying to clear the hotel of several unauthorized occupants. One occupant was tased four times before he was taken into custody.

Police have arrested several people for breaking into rooms or living in them.

Details released in fatal accidental shooting: WFPD

The hotel has been closed since late last year because of city code violations.

On May 5, police did another check and found more people there.

Two men, Joseph Bernstein and Chuck McCallan, were found sleeping in rooms on the property and again charged with criminal trespass. They were also arrested last month at the same location.

According to police, each window of the hotel has a “no trespassing” sign.
