WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A man whose past arrests and convictions include the rape of a student at Hirschi High School , burglaries, theft of a puppy and theft of 800 rounds of armor-piercing bullets was arrested at gunpoint on four more charges.

The new charges include illegally carrying a handgun, which was inside his waistband, according to police.

Xavier White, who turned 25 on the day he was arrested, Monday, April 15, has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and evading arrest.

Police said he was seen near a parking lot in the 1800 block of 10th Street and recognized by officers who knew he had an outstanding warrant related to drugs.

An officer said when he told White to come to them because he had a warrant, he continued walking, yelled an expletive and said, “It’s my birthday.”

According to police, he went around a corner and went up a staircase, and when they caught up to him and put him at gunpoint, he stopped but turned sideways so officers could not see his hands.

An officer quickly grabbed him and took him to the ground. Officers said he struggled but was placed into handcuffs.

Police found a handgun tucked into his waistband.

White’s other arrests include assault for a driveby shooting on Gerald with a shotgun in 2018, and he has convictions for several burglaries and thefts, assault, unlawfully carrying a weapon and several more felonies and misdemeanors.
