It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Daingerfield had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They skirted past the Troup Tigers 6-4. This was a revenge contest for Daingerfield, as the team was forced to settle for a 10-0 defeat when these two played on Friday.

The Lady Panthers’ 3-0 setback to Hamshire-Fannett on Friday in Jasper in Game 2 of a Class 4A softball area round series ended a 15-game winning streak and extended the series to a winner-take-all Game 3.

Power restored to most in East Texas after storms impact region
A storm system moved through East Texas on Sunday, leaving thousands without power and leaving residents and officials dealing with the storm's aftermath. Smith County experienced heavy rainfall, strong winds and severe thunderstorms. Hundreds in the Tyler area were still without power as of Monday afternoon, but by Tuesday morning, power had been restored to all Oncor customers in Smith County.
