WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS W.Va. (WVDN) – Sherry Lynn Carpenter, 60, of White Sulphur Springs, has been arrested following an incident in which she allegedly entered the home of a West Virginia State Trooper claiming she was in a relationship with him. According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the trooper’s home on March 25.

The criminal complaint states that Carpenter has reportedly been harassing the trooper by calling, messaging, leaving him presents and making statements to people in the community. Additionally, the trooper has stated that he wants no contact with Carpenter.

Reportedly, the trooper’s wife and children were present when Carpenter entered the home through the open back door. The wife confronted her, asking her to leave, which she reportedly did.

The criminal complaint states that Carpenter allegedly told a witness that she was in a relationship with the trooper to which the individual replied that could not be because he was married. She then reportedly said she was going to be “kicking his wife out.” Another witness is said to have stated that Carpenter told them she would be moving in with the trooper on the day of the incident.

Carpenter is facing charges of stalking, harassment, trespassing and entering without breaking. At the time of writing, Carpenter is in Southern Regional Jail with a $10,000 bond.
