This national retailer plans to open a new store in Columbiana Centre mall

A growing company that offers well-known fragrances is setting up a shop in a popular Columbia mall. Perfumania, which has more than 100 stores across the U.S., is coming soon to the Columbiana Centre mall in the busy Harbison shopping area northwest of downtown Columbia. There are banners up on a storefront in the mall touting that Perfumania is “opening soon” there and that the store will offer “over 1,000 authentic fragrances at discounted prices.” The new Perfumania shop will be neighbored by the Build-A-Bear Workshop and a Miniso store. The fragrance shop is going into a space that formerly was home to Francesca’s, which closed earlier this year . Perfumania touts on its website that it is one of the nation’s largest fragrance retailers, with more than 100 stores nationwide. It carries men’s and women’s fragrances, from companies such as Dolce & Gabana, Lancome, Paris Hilton, Giorgio Armani and many others. The company has been in a growth pattern, with industry publications noting earlier this year it planned to add 43 new locations throughout 2026 and 2027. J.Crew Factory, which has stores nationwide, opened a new shop at 275 Harbison Blvd. on Thursday, Nov. 5. A home's flood history can disappear between South Carolina owners. Here's how

South Carolina property owners need to disclose a number of items when selling a home, but what does the law say about flooding? The South Carolina Residential Property Condition Disclosure Act requires sellers to include information about flood history and insurance. A resident selling their home must disclose flood hazards and flood zones, whether the property is covered by public or private flood insurance, the number of flood claims during ownership, repairs as a result of a flood event and whether the property has received federal flood disaster assistance. Sellers are required to answer the above questions during their ownership and to the best of their knowledge. But Luke Anderson, a local real estate agent for Spero Realty, said the state’s property disclosure form has a slight loophole for disclosing flood history if the property has had multiple prior owners. If a property floods for the first owner but not the second owner, the second owner would not need to disclose flood damage if it did not occur during their ownership and if they did not have knowledge of the previous flood history. A third owner could purchase a property prone to flooding and not know its flood history since
