Softball Recap: Westville falls despite strong effort from Laney Cook
The Westville Tigers lost 13-3 to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg on Saturday. Laney Cook was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. On Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's side, Sam Hayes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hayes has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Hayes was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple.
