The shop offers clothing for men and women, and will soon have clothing for children. There are also a few accessories and home goods, such as blankets.
A family-owned business with 68 shops nationwide, Faherty Brand’s goods are “inspired by life’s greatest moments,” said Westfield Store Manager and Multi-store Leader Kathleen Koontz.
Think surfing, camping, bonfires, travel, said East Coast Regional Manager Jeffrey Cabrera. The clothes are made from sustainable materials and feel soft and comfortable — even the dressier, office-appropriate pieces.
One of Faherty's most popular items are their stretch terry pants.
“It wears like a sweat pant, but it’s a denim. It’s something you can wear to the office and you don’t ever want to take it off,” Cabrera said.
There are casual dresses, shirts, pants, shorts, blazers and hoodies. One line features clothing by Native American designers such as Steven Paul Judd, a Kiowa-Choctaw artist whose designs feature thunderbirds.
Alex Faherty, one of the brand’s founders, was on hand Friday for a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Westfield Corporation and members of the town council.
“It’s such a great, dynamic downtown,” Faherty said of downtown Westfield. “We’re just really excited to be here and be part of the community, and hopefully we’ll be here a long time.”
Faherty Brand is located at 127 Central Ave. A grand opening party, open to the community, will be held Saturday, May 11. Learn more about Faherty Brand here.
