Golfers take advantage of warm May weather in Westfield

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The sunshine and warmer temperatures made for perfect golfing weather Thursday at East Mountain Country Club in Westfield.

Ted Perez Jr., co-owner of East Mountain Country Club told 22News, “2024 has been off to a great start. Obviously, we basically had a non-winter, so now we get into the real golf season, mid-April through the end of September. This week, we’re standing here, it’s sunny, it’s
probably going to be 75 or something today, so we’re getting the better weather.”

“We come out here usually every Thursday because we love trying to play golf and we have ourselves a good time. We play 18 holes and it’s just a good time with all these guys,” said John Desrochers of Easthampton.

“I’m out here to have fun with my friends it’s been a long winter especially up in Plainfield,” said Scott Rannikko of Plainfield.

All the rain we’ve had this spring has allowed the course to really green up, making for great conditions on the course. It looks like there is some more nice golfing weather on the way Friday but it’s looking just a little cooler.
