Fire breaks out in Spillville, forcing four out of their homes
SPILLVILLE, Iowa — A fire broke out at an apartment complex just east of the Spillville’s Sailors’ & Soldiers’ Memorial Bandstand, the location formerly known as the Sportsman Bar and Grill. Despite the severity of the incident, there were no injuries reported. However, four people living there were forced out of their homes.
Missouri Man Charged in Deadly Summer Accident in Northeast Iowa
A Missouri man has been charged in a northeast Iowa incident this past summer that resulted in one person dying. On July 29th, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office responded to Domino Road by the Volga Campground on reports of an accident. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a truck driven by 24-year-old Tucker Baker of St. Joseph, Missouri had accelerated from a parked position at a high rate of speed with two passengers seated on the down tailgate. The two passengers, 24-year-old William Gross and 21-year-old Brett Gross, also from St. Joseph, Missouri, were ejected from the vehicle onto the concrete pavement.
BREAKING: Missing Nashua 18-Year-Old Found Deceased
A northeast Iowa 18-year-old, missing since Wednesday (09.27), has been found deceased. Various law enforcement and emergency response officials had been conducting a search for Kaden Ray Wilken of Nashua and, at approximately 5:30 pm Saturday evening, the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office received a call related to the missing male.

New Hampton Man Not Guilty of Terrorism by Reason of Insanity
A New Hampton man accused of threatening a flag football game in Cresco last fall has been found not guilty by reason of insanity. 30-year-old Dylan Schnur was charged with felony terrorism after an October 1, 2022, incident in which he posted to his Instagram account the statement “Bad shooter headed to the football game in Cresco *expletive* Iowa.” The threat led to cancellation of a flag football game at the Cresco Fitness Center after Cresco Police and Howard County Sheriff’s Office contacted staff and parents.
DCSD Board to discuss land for new elementary school
