Father earns high school diploma 20 years later, 2 daughters award his diploma
FRUITPORT, Mich. — Education can be a life-changing accomplishment for many, opening doors for countless new opportunities. For 36-year-old Todd Waldron, getting his high school diploma from the Fruitport Adult Education Program after more than two decades, he’s still shocked that he was able to finally finish the goal that he started in 2006.

Zeeland East hires Troy Hammond as girls basketball coach
ZEELAND - Troy Hammond will take over as Zeeland East girls basketball coach. He takes over for Kale Maupin, who stepped down from the position after two seasons. Hammond, a Zeeland native, has spent the last seven years serving as the head varsity basketball coach at East Grand Rapids. During this time he compiled a record of 118-39, including being named Regional Coach of the Year in 2020. Prior to his time at East Grand Rapids, Hammond was the girls varsity basketball coach at Forest Hills Eastern for three years. He has coached some of the top talent in the state, including the 2023 Miss Basketball Winner.
