Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi, Jimmy Mercedes, has been charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Certain Person not to Possess a Weapon. As previously reported, at approximately 10:22 a.m. on May 5, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Broadway and East 24th Street on report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, police located the 62-year-old male victim. Robinson, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced deceased on May 7.
