The crash happened just before midnight on Sunday and the Skyview Volunteer Fire Company says that the car lost control and went airborne before slamming into the building. <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> The front of the building had a broken window and a bent frame, along with some bricks that were knocked loose during the crash. PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man is dead following an overnight shooting in Pittsburgh's Hill District.Pittsburgh Police say that officers were called to the area of Bedford Avenue and Watt Lane for multiple ShotSpotter alerts.When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying in the street who had been shot in the head.He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as 35-year-old Anthony Young. Police say that detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are handling the investigation, which they said is ongoing.

(KDKA) -- Two people are charged with abuse of a corpse in connection with the death of a Beaver County woman who was missing for over a year.State police said Shawn Dedominicis and Karissa Brewer moved 24-year-old Ri'Kiah Griffie's body after she died in their Towne Towers apartment in October of 2022. Dedominicis was also charged with theft, receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence after police said he disposed of Griffie's belongings after she died.   Griffie's remains were found in an abandoned building in the area of Fifth Avenue earlier this month. Police said they received information that led them to the area but didn't disclose more details about the investigation.After Griffie was found, family and friends gathered to remember her. "Whenever she went, her light shined brighter than anything. She touched so many people," said cousin Avonni Griffie.Neighbors told KDKA-TV that the buildings in the area where Griffie's body was found have been vacant for years. Griffie's mom Ronda Duke  said she dropped her daughter off at her boyfriend's on Oct. 7, 2022, and never saw her again. "I'm happy my baby is home safe with me and the good Lord," Duke said last week. "Now, justice will prevail."

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Public Parking Authority of Pittsburgh is calling on Harrisburg to help with the issue of unpaid parking tickets. They're requesting the state's help to change the consequences in order to better enforce those unpaid tickets, according to a report from our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. As of now, parking officers boot vehicles with unpaid tickets and that can cost drivers up to $1,500 to get them removed from the tire on their vehicle. Now, parking authority leaders are proposing a change to lawmakers in Harrisburg that would freeze a driver's registration once their unpaid tickets reach a certain amount. David Onorato, authority executive director, and Mark Vergenes, vice president of the Pennsylvania Parking Association appeared before the Pennsylvania Senate Transportation Committee and said that a total of $250 for the freezing of registration would be easier to pay off than the option of a boot. They did say that around 89% of outstanding tickets do get paid.
