WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A fire broke out at a house Saturday night in West Hartford, displacing two people, according to fire officials.

At around 11:45 p.m., the West Hartford and UConn Fire Departments responded to Cliffmore Road after multiple fire alarms were activated at a home.

The two occupants of the home, an adult and a child, reported hearing a loud noise that prompted them to leave and go to a neighbor’s home, fire officials said.

When fire officials arrived at the scene, they saw a working fire with smoke coming from the front of the house. Crews battled the flames by conducting an interior attack combined with a search for occupants, and the fire was extinguished at 12:07 a.m. Sunday.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the displaced family.

No injuries were reported, and the house is to be evaluated by a building official, but fire officials say it is “likely uninhabitable.”
