2 killed in crash in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Two people were killed in a crash Tuesday night in Wellford.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said the two-vehicle crash occurred close to midnight near the Upward Star Center on Warren H Abernathy Highway.

Investigators said 47-year-old Armando Luis Torres, of Lyman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another individual was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where she later passed away. The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 67-year-old Debra Heanu, of Spartanburg.

Details of what may have led to the crash have not been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office and Wellford Police Department.
