4.3 quake strikes near Bodfish, east of Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 4.3 magnitude quake struck near Bodfish on Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck at around 12:19 p.m. Its epicenter was in an area south of Bodfish — about 7 miles — and Lake Isabella, according to the USGS.
“Four takes third” on the coast
Jayda second from left, and Scarlett first from right. No, it’s not new math. It’s the number of Kern Valley athletes that competed in the Morro Bay Pirate Relays. These Lady Broncs were able to grab third place in the meet. Despite competing in just seven events, Kern Valley was very successful. As a team, the Lady Broncs won four of those events. They also had three second place finishes, and one each third place and fourth.
KRV Little League Junior baseball team ready to swing into action
This season the Kern River Valley Little League will be represented with a traveling Junior Baseball team. The team consists of 15 players. The team make up as follows: Qwintin Pariseau, Ryder Pappas, Jayden Davidson, Braeden Ege, Parker Gannaway, Mark Imbelloni, Eli Liske, Levi Bell, Roman Avila, Cooper Bryski, Dakotha Taylor, Isaac Sporkin, Scotty Harper, John Carruthers, and David Sharpe. They will be coached by Brett Ege and Eric Liske.
