After over a year CL construction project nearing completion
In March 2023, the City of Ridgecrest contracted Everlevel Holdings Inc. for a sewer rehabilitation project. After over a year of construction, the project is nearing completion. According to Everlevel Holdings Inc.’s superintendent, George Zunich, the project is expected to be completed by the end of May.
Over the Hill Track Club announces results of Inyokern 10-Mile Run
On April 20, the Over the Hill Track Club’s 47th annual Inyokern 10-Mile Run took place. The race was a point to point route beginning at the intersection of Highway 395 and South China Lake Boulevard and Old Highway 395 and Brown Road. The route follows Brown Road west then north into Inyokern, ending at the Inyokern Senior Center.

Burros track and field have 17 qualify for CIF
After finishing the Mojave River League meets, the 2024 MRL champions Burroughs girls and the boys track and field teams turned their attention to the MRL Finals meet at Oak Hills. The Burros went into the event knowing they had a chance to qualify for CIF-SS Division 3 Preliminary meet at Yorba Linda High School on Thursday, May 4th.
My thoughts: Magnet schools
Well, Vieweg and Pierce elementary schools are going to be magnet schools beginning with the 2025-26 school year. I believe the science, technology, engineering, and math and the visual and performing arts programs will be good fits for the community.
Burroughs end season with win, await playoff fate
It was Senior Day and the season home finale for the Burroughs baseball team when it hosted Serrano. The Burros were coming off a 5-4 extra inning loss at Serrano on Wednesday, and needed a win to keep their hopes for an at-large bid for CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs alive. Under 35 miles per hour winds, the Burroughs held the Diamondbacks scoreless to secure a 2-0 win, and secure a 13-12 overall record and a 4-11 Mojave River League record for fourth place.
Burroughs softball falls on the road in season finale
The Burroughs softball team finished its Mojave River League season on the road at Serrano. The Burros went into the game having upset the league third place Apple Valley on Monday, and needed a win to have a chance to get into the playoff. But a last-minute rally fell short and the Burros lost to the Diamondbacks 11-6. Burroughs ends the season with a 9-12 overall record and a 3-7 league record.

Sierra Sands Unified School District officials said a job advertisement posted on Indeed.com has been addressed. The post was an advertisement for a child nutrition service office assistant. The ad stated that people with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.
