400+ area school officials gather for an education celebration

WEBB CITY, Mo. (KOAM) -- More than 400+ administrators, teachers, and board members from 41 area schools met up in Webb City Wednesday, May 1, for a Celebration of Schools.

The Southwest Center hosted the celebration for the 25th year.

There were several awards up for grabs including the the "Southwest Center Trailblazer" award, "Friend-of-Education", "Grades PK-6th Making Learning Come Alive", "Grades 7-12 Making Learning Come Alive", "Dr. Al Cade Service Award", and Teachers of the Year.

School Board Members who have served 10+ years,  Legislators, and other Outstanding Achievements within the school districts were also recognized.

The Southwest Center for Educational Excellence (SWC) is an educational service agency serving 41 school districts, two universities, and one junior college. The school districts educate over 57,000 students and employ over 7,000 employees. The goal of SWC is to provide high-quality, on-going and relevant professional development.
