    Wayzata-Plymouth Sports Stars of the Week

    Cullen Britz

    The Wayzata High boys lacrosse team holds first place in the Lake Conference standings with a 4-1 record. Cullen Britz scored the winning goal in overtime as the Trojans posted a 10-9 win over Edina. He followed up with two goals and two assists in a 9-8 victory over St. Michael-Albertville and two goals and two assists in an 11-5 victory over Buffalo.

    LaVie Freeman

    Armstrong High boys track star LaVie Freeman placed third in both hurdles events in the Section 7AAA True Team Meet May 8. His times were 15.73 seconds in the 110s and 41.48 seconds in the 300s.

    Henry Kirt

    Goalie Henry Kirt of the Wayzata High boys lacrosse team played one of the best games of his career in a 9-8 Lake Conference victory over St. Michael-Albertville May 7. He protected the goal expertly with 22 saves.

    Caitlyn Osanai

    Distance runner Caitlyn Osanai provided one of the Armstrong girls track team’s top highlights when she finished third in the 1600 during the Section 7AAA True Team Meet May 8 at Hopkins High. Osanai ran a personal record time of 5:01.00.

    Wayzata Golfers

    Seniors Saachi Deshmukh and Kiersten Lawrence of the Wayzata High girls golf team are candidates for the Ms. Golf of Minnesota Award for the 2024 season.

    William Weber

    Wayzata junior William Weber won the 1600-meter run against a loaded field in the Section 7AAA True Team Track and Field Meet May 8 at Hopkins High. Weber’s time was a personal record of 4:15.30. The Trojans took second place in the team standings.
