Gregory Tompkins, a juvenile at an Orange County detention center, is now confronting several criminal charges following a violent episode last week. Allegedly, Tompkins used a shank to threaten and steal keys from a Goshen Secure employee, initiating a chain of assaults within the facility. Police reports indicate that Tompkins not only assaulted the aforementioned employee but also targeted a second staff member. Using the stolen keys, he gained access to another section of the detention center, where he attacked two residents. While several fights erupted among other inmates during the incident, no further arrests were made. Tompkins is currently held in Orange County Jail as authorities continue to investigate the incident and address the charges against him.

CAMPBELL HALL – A body found in the woods in Campbell Hall on Saturday was that of a suicide victim, State Police said Monday. Troopers said on Monday that the body was discovered by a hiker at around 10:45 a.m. at the eastern bank of the Wallkill River at the end of the Hamptonburgh Trail.
