Fire at hospital hill residence

The Waverly Fire Department was dispatched to a structure at 116 Sunrise early Tuesday morning. On arrival, FD personnel found a single story dwelling heavily involved with fire, according to a report from the Waverly Fire Department.

The fire had already self vented through the roof and personnel deployed handlines to start extinguishing the blaze. Once a water supply was established, a deck gun was used to knock down hot spots.

The Pebble Township Fire Department was called in for mutual aid. The fire was determined to be contained at 6:28 am. Tuesday morning.

The Waverly FD remained on scene until 8:07 a.m. extinguishing hot spots and overhauling the structure.

The estimated property damage was $110,000 and the estimated value of contents lost was $15,000.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area of the house; however, the cause of the fire was still undetermined at press time. The report did state that there were no human factors found that contributed to the fire.
