WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Firefighters used about 9,000 gallons of water to put out a fire in Watertown Wednesday afternoon, Watertown Fire Department officials said Friday.

Crews were called to a mobile home along County Highway M at around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday after a neighbor reported a fire. The home was unoccupied and flames could be seen impacting about 75% of the structure. Officials said the fire was spreading to a nearby woodpile.

Along with the roughly 9,000 gallons of water, crews also used about five gallons of foam to extinguish the flames. Officials had not determined the cause of the fire as of Friday afternoon.

The fire caused an estimated $15,000 in damage and loss. The scene was cleared at around 4:45 p.m.
