The Washington Capitals officially have their draft position, as they will select 17th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft in Vegas in June.

Washington's first-round sweep at the hands of the New York Rangers ensures the 17th selection, which is the first selection following the lottery.

Beyond the first round, Washington also owns one second-round pick (No. 52 acquired from Vegas Golden Knights), three third-round picks (No. 82, No. 83 acquired from New York Islanders, No. 91 acquired from Boston Bruins), one fourth-round pick (No. 114), one fifth-round pick (No. 146) and one sixth-round pick (No. 178).
