    Woman charged in Navy Yard murder

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it arrested a woman who is accused of shooting and killing a man in an apartment building in Navy Yard.

    MPD said Friday that Prashawn Brady, 31, of Southeast faces a charge of Second Degree Murder While Armed.

    Officers received a report of gunfire in the 1100 block of 2nd Pl. SE around 3 a.m. on March 31. When police arrived, they found Michael James Quander Jr., 44, of Northwest shot inside the apartment building. Quander died there.

    On Friday, May 3, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found Brady and took her into custody.

    The Metropolitan Police Department did not specify the relationship between Brady and Quander but said detectives found that the two had one of some kind with each other.
