Twenty-two years ago, Robert Ray Courtney (Inmate Register #14636-045) was convicted of diluting chemotherapy drugs for more than 4,000 patients. It's been recently reported he will be released from prison this summer to a halfway house. Victims and families of victims are most likely disappointed and furious and understandably so.

In what feels like a rash of recent announcements of military commanders relieved of command a new addition is added to the list in April of 2024. The most recent was the commander of an infantry battalion in California was relieved of his command. The Marine Corp Times reports that Lt. Col. Christopher O’Melia was fired from his role as commander of 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, by Maj. Gen. Benjamin Watson, the commanding general of 1st Marine Division, Marine spokesman Lt. Col. Lucas Burke said in a statement to Marine Corps Times in April of 2024.

The Denver City Council learned more Wednesday about the workforce development component of the Denver Asylum Seekers Program. The city has transitioned the way it helps migrants, closing shelters and instead placing 800 people in the asylum program. That includes people who had been staying in non-congregate hotel shelters, all but one of which have closed. New migrant arrivals will not be eligible for the six-month work program until some graduate, according to a presentation by city staff. The city intends to keep 500 people in the work program at a time, according to Tony Anderson, workforce development manager for the city.
