WARREN, NJ —The wait and occupation is over, Warren Township has a new Chief of Police as well as a new Sergeant and Lieutenant. The full courtroom applauded all.

At a special meeting of the Warren Township Committee on Wednesday, Robert Ferreiro was appointed Warren Township’s Chief of Police effective May 1, 2024 at a salary of $220,000 through December 31, 2030.

Mathew Saum was promoted to Lieutenant,and Eric Task was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office(SCPO) had taken over the Warren Township Police department effective Dec. 20, 2023.
