“This was a really good win for us,” said WHRHS head coach Brian Figueriedo. “Dayton has been the best team in Union County so far this year, having a 7-0 record and basically averaging 10 runs a game, so we knew we’d have our hands full and I was incredibly proud of how we responded to the challenge.  Riley shut down a really good lineup and got the ball rolling for us offensively with her home run.  When we’re able to score early, we tend to have big offensive games, and that trend continued today.  We got on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning and we took off after that.  It was a very satisfying win and hopefully we can carry some momentum into a divisional game tomorrow against Hillsborough.”

Watchung Hills is 5-1 and hosts Hillsborough on Tuesday.
