Baylor Softball starts off its Big 12 Tournament with a win over UCF

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK ( FOX 44 ) — The Baylor Softball team got off to a winning start in the 2024 Big 12 Tournament on Thursday night as the Bears beat UCF.

It was Baylor that got off to a quick start offensively in the game as Aliyah Binford, who also started on the mound, hit her first home run of the season to give her team a 1-0 lead.

The Bears then extended their lead to 2-0 before the Knights responded with a two-run home run in the top of the 6th to tie the game.

Baylor bounced back almost immediately though, as Shaylon Govan delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the frame to give her team the lead for good.

With the win, the Bears advance to the Big 12 Tournament Semifinals where they will take on Texas on Friday, May 10th at 7:30 pm.
