BLACKSBURG, VA ( FOX 44 ) — A dominant showing from Baylor women’s basketball ended with the Bears advancing to the round of 32 for the second-straight year with an 80-63 win over Vanderbilt.

The Commodores took a 2-0 lead to start the game but that’d be the only lead Vandy held the entire game as the Bears countered with a 24-6 run to take as much as a 16-point lead in the first quarter.

Vanderbilt cut the lead to single digits but a strong 11 points in the first half from Bella Fontleroy kept the Bears’ lead at seven points heading into the half.

The third quarter all but sealed the deal for Baylor with six Bears finding the scoring column and outscoring the Commodores 28-15 to extend the advantage to 20, Baylor’s largest lead of the game.

Four Bears finished in double figures with Fontleroy leading all scorers with 19 points on the night.

Baylor advances to face the four-seed and region host, Virginia Tech Hokies in the Round of 32.
