MEMPHIS, TN ( FOX 44 ) — Baylor is onto the second round for the fifth-straight NCAA tournament after coasting to a 92-67 win over the 14-seed Colgate.

The Bears put aside the slow starts to games in the Big 12 tournaments and came out swinging at FedEx Forum, jumping out to an early lead thanks to the play of the star freshman tandem of Ja’Kobe Walter and Yves Missi.

That hot start didn’t slow down at all throughout the first half, with a scorching Baylor shooting performance saw the Bears shoot 63.3 percent from the field, 7-12 from beyond the arc to take a 20-point halftime lead.

That strong start carried over into the second half, opening the second period 5-10 from deep to take a commanding 22-point lead with 7:30 remaining in the game.

All five Baylor starters finished in double figures with Jalen Bridges erupting in the second half with 18 points, 23 to lead all scorers. Ja’Kobe Walter turned in 19 points.

The Bears advance to face the winner of No. 6 Clemson/No. 11 New Mexico in the Round of 32.
