A Solon woman has been taken into custody after allegedly driving on I80 erratically and ignoring an officer’s lights and siren to stop her. According to the police report, an off-duty Johnson County Deputy observed 37-year-old Amanda Gregory Sunday night, traveling eastbound on I80. Hiawatha woman arrested for OWI after flipping car in Coralville
A Hiawatha woman was arrested for OWI in Coralville last week after an accident left her vehicle flipped on its side. Officers were called to the 400 block of 4th Avenue at around 8:30 pm on March 14th on reports of a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries and a vehicle flipped over in a 25-miles-per-hour zone. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle on its side, and the driver, 23-year-old Alica Rinke. She was allegedly observed with bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance, and the odor of ingested alcohol. Rinke reportedly admitted to consuming 2 glasses of wine while at dinner with her friends.
Cedar Rapids project destroys historic stone wall to build sidewalk

MARION, Iowa (KCRG) – Officials have released additional information about the shooting at a Marion bar on Friday night, including the name of a victim who died. Cameron Barnes, 32, was shot and killed in an incident at Cocktails & Company, located at 1625 Blairs Ferry Road. Marion Police said that, at around 11:06 p.m., they responded to a report of gunshots at the bar. Several law enforcement agencies and ambulances sped to the scene. Officials said that Barnes was shot inside the bar, and later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, nor has a suspect been named publicly. An investigation is ongoing.
Warmer weather to start the work week, eventually wetter

Temperatures tonight will not fall as far as the past few nights, as lows hit the mid 20s. A mix of sun and clouds will be present on Monday as highs push into the upper 40s and low 50s. A similar southwest breeze like on Sunday will be present, but it’ll be one of the reasons we see our temperatures climb.

Linn County Deputy retires after 43 years
