Kirkwood Man Arrested After Trio of Gas Station Robberies in Broome and Chenango Counties
A Kirkwood man is facing several charges after three gas stations in Broome and Chenango Counties were robbed late last week. According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, two of the robberies occurred before 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9th in Broome County, and the last one occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, May 10th in Greene, Chenango County.

The Town of Windsor will be holding a rabies clinic on June 8th from 10am - 12pm. Protect your furry friend with a rabies vaccination!. The clinic is available to residents of Windsor, Bloomfield, West Hartford and Hartford for $20 cash per animal. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier. Sick animals will not be vaccinated based on veterinarian's discretion.

Binghamton considers hotel room tax to pay for baseball stadium
The Binghamton City Council recently took the first step in a process that would tax local hotels to bring in more revenue for the city. The occupancy tax would charge hotels and motels a certain percentage for each room they rent. Occupancy taxes are fairly common; Broome County has charged a 5% occupancy tax since 1977. The cities of Cortland and Ithaca both charge local hotels an occupancy tax.
