Sandies named All-District
Trio of Calhoun players capture league superlatives. As each district team officially wrapped their seasons, the Sandies softball team standouts Calhoun senior pitcher Andrea Hataway was named the district’s Co-Pitcher of the Year for her performance on the mound.

Several programs win district, make post-season runs. With the 2023-24 sports season in the books, Athletic Director Richard Whitaker took some time to review what was a successful calendar year for several squads.
Celebrating Baby Day at Jourdanton library
Families and their little ones gathered at the Jourdanton Community Library on April 27 for Baby Day, hosted by SJRC Texas. The free event was presented by First3Years with similar events also held in SJRC Texas’ north region in New Braunfels and east region in Victoria. The sessions and activities in Jourdanton included infant massage, storytime, “Messy Hands, Full Hearts” and more.

What we're tracking: Latest computer model guidance suggests strong-severe thunderstorms may develop in the Crossroads this afternoon with possibly another round arriving overnight. The main risks associated with storms will be small hail and strong winds, although a tornado cannot be fully ruled out. Storm initiation will likely begin in the early to mid afternoon sometime after 1 p.m. with rain/storm coverage increasing from isolated to scattered in the late afternoon. Another round of strong-severe thunderstorms will arrive overnight. These thunderstorms are expected to arrive after 3 a.m. and exit the Crossroads somewhere before 9 a.m. See below for the severe risk area issued by the Storm Prediction Center at 11:25 a.m.
