Momentum for the Playoffs – Tonight’s theme for the AHSAA Game of the Week
MONTGOMERY – (October 29, 2026) There are many thought processes on preparing a team in Week Ten of the AHSAA season. Many teams have completed their seasons, having played in Week Zero with no break in order to have one this week before the playoffs. Others want a mid-season stoppage to get their breath and heal some injuries for the stretch run. Regardless of the philosophy, the difficult navigation now can be how teams handle the final game when it isn’t a region contest. That is what the lay of the land is for the AHSAA Game of the Week between Saraland and Auburn. Two strong playoff contenders having to compete for pride and the mojo of winning heading into next week’s first round. Saraland’s head coach, Jeff Kelly offered this explanation, “Ending the season with a game like this is exciting for the players. As a coach, you want to come out healthy for the playoffs. That's what is most important. Auburn will provide a great test and prepare us for the challenges that will come starting next week.”
