ServisFirst Bank Holding Company Named To Top List
ServisFirst Bancshares, Inc., bank holding company of ServisFirst Bank, a regional bank headquartered in Birmingham, with locations in Mobile and Baldwin counties, has ranked fourth in the top publicly traded banks with $10 billion-$50 billion in assets based on year-end 2023 data. ServisFirst Bancshares is the only bank in Alabama that made it into the top 10, and this is the third year in a row it has achieved a top-five ranking. The annual list is compiled by consultancy Capital Performance Group, which uses each institution’s three-year average return on average equity (ROAE) to determine rankings, which are published annually by American Banker. The $16 billion-asset institution ServisFirst Bancshares had a 3-year average ROAE of 18.38%, a return on average assets of 1.37%, a net interest margin of 2.81%, nonperforming assets/total assets of 0.13% and core deposits/total deposits of 91.30%.
United Way Kick-Off Luncheon To Feature Strug
Individual tickets are on sale for the United Way of Baldwin County 2024 Campaign Kick-Off Luncheon featuring Olympian Kerri Strug as guest speaker, Mullet Wrapper reports. The annual event, which usually sells out, will be held on September 5 at the Daphne Civic Center. Doors open at 11 a.m., and the program begins at noon. A two-time Olympian and gold medalist, Krug was the youngest Olympian at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona at age 14 and was part of the American team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. After shocking spectators by falling and injuring her ankle on her first vault, she stuck the landing on her second vault before collapsing in pain, helping to secure gold for the American team that became known worldwide as “The Magnificent Seven.”

Domke Market To Move, Expand To Amici Trattoria
Domke Market, a West Mobile wine bar and market, will rebrand and expand to become Amici Trattoria, expected to open in mid-August 2024. Amici Trattoria will open in the 4,500-ft2 space formerly occupied by Margaux and The Hungry Owl. Amici combines an Italian Trattoria showcasing Treviso, Italy-based Chef Luigi Tonghini’s authentic Italian cuisine and a wine market featuring more than 400 wines and gourmet items, alongside a wine and craft cocktail bar. The new space features indoor and outdoor dining, as well as private meeting space at 7899 Cottage Hill Road. Amici is currently hiring staff for the kitchen, market, and restaurant. Dining will be available by reservation only for dinner, with plans to expand to lunch and walk-in service within a month of opening. Building Risk Communication Skills Workshop Announced
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Gulf of Mexico Disaster Preparedness Response Center, Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and University of South Alabama Center of Disaster Healthcare Preparedness are hosting Building Risk Communication Skills on September 10 at 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The location is the NOAA center at 7344 Zeigler Blvd. in Mobile. The workshop aims to motivate attendees toward action to reduce risk and help them develop new skills to better connect with diverse audiences. It will also allow attendees to practice their new skills, apply them to their own risk communication strategies and collaborate with peers on local risk communication challenges. The organizers said responses to questions during registration will help them customize the training to be reflective of local risk communication issues. Culture Fest Coming To Africatown Heritage House Tomorrow
