Man dead from fatal gunshot in Vallejo

( KRON ) – A man was shot and killed in Vallejo on Sunday causing the city's sixth homicide of the year, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

Vallejo police officers were informed of a shooting in the 1300 block of North Camino Alto at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Witnesses told responding officers that a family member transported the victim to a local hospital.

The hospital staff informed officers the victim was undergoing medical treatment. Shortly after, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Coroner’s Office.

According to the police, the motive and circumstances surrounding this shooting are currently under investigation.
