GBI arrests Lake Park woman involved in human trafficking
ECHOLS CO. – The GBI arrests a Lake Park woman for the involvement of human trafficking a minor victim into labor servitude. After a joint investigation involving the Echols County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit, Genara Juan -Ramos, age 30, of Lake Park, GA, has been charged with two counts of 1st degree Cruelty to Children and one count of Human Trafficking.

This week in Lowndes County, Georgia, there were three notable incidents. First, a deported felon from the Bahamas was arrested during a traffic stop for speeding on I-75. He was indicted for the deaths of 17 Haitian migrants and an unborn child. Second, an off-campus shooting occurred following a parent-involved incident at Lake Park Elementary, leaving one suspect still wanted. Lastly, Valdosta Police caught a man accused of murder after responding to reports of gunshots and finding a victim at Hudson Dockett Homes. The suspect was considered armed and dangerous.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A Valdosta man is wanted by the Albany Police Department (APD) Criminal Investigations Bureau, and is asking the public’s assistance in locating him. Jameon Demond Gaskin, 23, allegedly stole a check made out to a construction company for the amount of $52,465.50, according to APD.

Bahamas fugitive arrested in Valdosta
Authorities in Valdosta have arrested an international fugitive charged in the Bahamas for the deaths of 17 people and an unborn child in a human smuggling operation. Records provided by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office show the fugitive, Travis Jamaal Moss, was charged locally for speeding, driving under the influence, providing a false name and other offenses three weeks ago.
