A 42-year-old Vader woman was struck and killed while standing on the shoulder of Interstate 5 in Clark County on Friday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Jessica M. Blinebry died at the scene, according to the state patrol.

Guadalupe V. Munoz, 44, of Woodland, was traveling north in a 1991 Nissan pickup truck at about 10:30 p.m. at milepost 17 when he allegedly failed to yield for a fire truck, which was stationary, struck the emergency vehicle and lost control of his truck.

His truck then struck Jessica M. Blinebry and 39-year-old Casey J. Blinebry, who were on the shoulder. Casey J. Blinebry was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Munoz was not injured. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Munoz could face a charge of vehicular homicide, according to the state patrol.

It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor. The state patrol listed the cause of the crash as failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle.
