One killed, four injured in Utica club shooting

UTICA, Miss. ( WJTV ) – One person was killed and four others were injured after a shooting at a club in Utica.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the shooting happened just before midnight on Sunday, April 28 outside the Sugar Shack Club in the 1000 block of Lee Davis Circle.
According to Jones, 41-year-old Jason Harris was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
The sheriff said four other victims were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment by private vehicles. The four victims were identified as 53-year-old Michael Brown, 29-year-old Deidra Williams, 22-year-old Lorenzo Cooper, and 48-year-old Anthony Brown.
According to Jones, Michael Brown, Williams and Cooper were injured in the crossfire. Michael Brown is in serious condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Williams and Cooper were both treated and released from a local hospital. Anthony Brown is in stable condition at UMMC.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation involving the deceased and three other individuals. According to the sheriff, investigators believe the individuals know each other.
Jones said Eric Dixon, 42, and Joseph Crum, 34, were both arrested and charged with one count of murder and three counts of aggravated assault. The sheriff said Dickson is the brother of Harris, who was killed in the shooting.
Investigators recovered a handgun and a revolver at the scene, as well as 23 shell casings. Jones said additional arrests and charges are possible in this case.
