Pair arrested on charges stemming from theft, car crash
GRASONVILLE, Md. – Two people were arrested Wednesday evening on theft and other charges. Deputies were called to Walgreens at around 5 p.m. for a reported theft. Arriving officers saw a vehicle returning to the location with two people inside matching the suspect descriptions. The vehicle then allegedly fled the area at a high rate of speed, leading the deputy on a chase. The vehicle drove through the Route 18 drawbridge traffic arm and over the partially open bridge. Deputies on the other side of the bridge found the vehicle after it crashed into the Waterman’s Monument at the corner of Main Street and Kent Narrows Way S. Witnesses told police that the suspects ran behind Fisherman’s Inn Restaurant.

22-year-old arrested for shooting woman multiple times during argument with mutual friend
GREENBELT, Md. — A 22-year-old is facing multiple charges after shooting and injuring a woman in Greenbelt on May 7. Officers with the Greenbelt Police Department responded to Cherrywood Terrace, off of Cherrywood Lane and Greenbelt Road, at 9:08 p.m. after a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a woman who had been shot. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment, where police say she remains in stable condition.
