Soggy Thursday Morning, Dry Friday, Then Heavy Rain Threatens ND Night Game
Thursday starts soggy with scattered rain, thunder, and patchy fog making for a slick morning commute, but conditions clear up nicely by afternoon with dry skies and highs near 78°. Friday looks great for high school football, sunny, less humid, and highs in the mid-70s. The biggest story of the week arrives Saturday, soaking rain and lightning are expected to move through Michiana, with rain totals potentially reaching 1 to 2 inches, threatening tailgating and Notre Dame's night game at Notre Dame Stadium. Timing on the heaviest rain is still uncertain, but it won't rain all day, several hours of dry time are possible in the afternoon.

Scattered downpours & lightning Thursday morning
A wet Thursday morning will slow down your commute with scattered rain, thunder, and fog. Conditions dry out Thursday afternoon and evening. Friday offers a rain-free break with lower humidity — ideal for Friday night football games. However, Saturday's big story is soaking rain and lightning moving through Michiana with rain amounts reaching 1 to 2 inches. This will impact tailgating and the Notre Dame night game, though the exact timing of widespread rain remains uncertain. Monitor First Alert Weather for updates on when the heaviest rain arrives.

With cooler temperatures and lower humidity, Sunday was "simmer"-time in Michiana. The high temperature of 75 was the coolest this month so far, but the first 13 days of September still have been the warmest since 1961! We've averaged 82% clear skies during the month. The sunny skies continue today!...

How to survive a heat wave in an 80-year-old dorm
As Scene’s self-proclaimed, one-day-only “how to” girl, I will be sharing the wise insights that come from living in Notre Dame’s finest dorm, Farley Hall. As we are all aware, a record-breaking heat wave hit Notre Dame last week, but unfortunately, not all students were affected equally — as not all dorms are made equal. Undisputedly, Farley Hall has the best culture, location and people on campus, but our lovely old building is not as well prepared for the heat as some of the newer buildings.
