Multiple People Injured in Collision South of Pipestone
TROSKY – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 75 in Rock County this morning. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 8:26 this morning, a 2005 Subaru Legacy was traveling eastbound on County Road 12 and a 2017 Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on Highway 75 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.
Marshall man injured on icy Redwood County road Monday
A Marshall man was injured when his vehicle went into the ditch on icy roads in Redwood County Monday morning. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on March 20, Rolando Antonio Godoy, age 41, was driving a 2020 Ford F150 eastbound on Highway 19. At about 10:24 a.m., near the intersection with 280th Street, the pickup lost control and rolled into the ditch.

EV-W Facing Tall Task at State Boys Basketball Tournament
Eden Valley-Watkins won the section 3-2-A boys basketball title last Wednesday night over Redwood Valley 75-72 at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall. The Eagles posted a narrow 2-point win on a last second shot over New London-Spicer in the section semifinals. Eden Valley-Watkins head coach Jake Anderson indicated they finally had the opportunity to run the last second play they've been practicing for years and it was great to see the team execute it so well.

Dr. Donna Pawlowski, department chair and professor of communication studies, presented a session titled, “Mentoring Model Workshop: Reuniting Faculty Through Addressing Mentoring Needs” on September 16, 2022, at the Communication & Theater Association of Minnesota conference in Marshall, Minn. She was also at the conference elected president-elect of the association, which combines the interests of communication and theater teachers and professors across the state of Minnesota.
UCAP anticipating money for food, shelter programs
United Community Action Partnership Inc., on behalf of Jackson, Redwood, Cottonwood, Lincoln, Murray, Rock, Pipestone and Nobles counties, is anticipating Federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program Phase 40 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the area. The selection will be made by a local board that consists of representatives from the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Council of Jewish Federations, Catholic Charities, USA National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA. Local non-profits Lutheran Social Services and United Community Action Partnership will provide the administrative staff. Selected grantees will be required to establish an EFSP account to become considered a Local Recipient Organization (LRO). Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local government or private voluntary organizations chosen to receive funds must be non-profit, have an accounting system and conduct and annual audit, practice non-discrimination., and have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and /or shelter programs. If they are a private voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board.
Augustana Baseball Opens NSIC Play with Series Win
OMAHA, Neb.--The Augustana baseball team defeated Southwest Minnesota State in the first two games of the three-game series to capture the series win on Sunday. MnDOT closes stretch of Highway 14, advises no travel in Marshall area
WILLMAR (KMHL) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation has closed a stretch of U.S. Highway 14 in southwest Minnesota, and is advising no travel in parts of the region. According to MnDOT, strong winds and heavy snow have created poor visibility and drifts which are quickly backfilled as soon as they are plowed along many southwest Minnesota highways.
