A few showers & thunderstorms Wednesday night, remaining seasonally mild
Wednesday was just the latest day for the Northland to see more hazy sunshine, warm summer temperatures, light winds, and slightly humid dew points. We should see a bit of a change in this pattern Wednesday night as the more active weather pattern that has stayed to our south will bump just enough north that those along and south of Highway 2 will have a widely scattered chance for showers and thunderstorms. Lows will remain seasonally mild in the 50s and low 60s. Thursday will see any precipitation move out, with a mix of sunshine and clouds to follow. Winds will remain light and dew points will remain a bit humid, with highs staying seasonally mild in the 70s and low 80s.

Staying seasonally mild and a bit humid with a few showers and thunderstorms
The start of a new work week in the Northland saw more ideal August weather conditions in the Northland. A high-pressure system helped to keep high temperatures in the 70s and low 80s, along with comfortable dew points and light winds. The sunshine was plentiful for most of the day, despite some haze in the upper atmosphere. We are going to see some cloud cover push through from time to time over the next 48 hours as a storm system pushes to the south of the region. There will be a few showers and thunderstorms passing through the southern half of the region from time to time, with the best chances of seeing the widely scattered precipitation Tuesday evening and Tuesday night. Lows Monday night will be in the upper 50s and low 60s, with highs Tuesday back in the 70s and low 80s with light east winds.

Cooler, drier, and overall pleasant for our Tuesday and Wednesday
Happy Tuesday, Northland! Though it wasn’t a cool day by any stretch, cloud cover helped prevent widespread 80s across the Northland. Some spots did still did get into the upper 80s, but most stayed in the upper 70s and lower half of the 80s, with a lake breeze keeping the Twin Ports and North Shore cooler. As a cold front made its way in during the evening and overnight hours, storm action ramped up along with it. Showers are still moving through along the cold front, but as blustery northwest winds behind the front brings in direr air, we will begin to see the showers clear out and the sunshine to move back in. Overall, the cold front will keep conditions quite comfortable over the next couple of days. Dew points will stay in the 50s at most so we will have a nice break from the mugginess. Temperatures today will stay quite cool, with highs ranging from the upper 60s in northern Minnesota into the 70s south of Highway 2. As a high-pressure system makes its way through, overnight temperatures can dip into the lower 50s and 40s. Temperatures will be a bit warmer Wednesday but still comfortable with highs in the 70s and lower 80s.
