    Twinsburg High School will remain closed Tuesday as repairs continue to the electrical systems damaged by lightning Sunday morning. However, the Twinsburg City School district's other schools will be open, as well as the administrative offices.

    The schools and the Twinsburg Fitness Center were closed Monday.

    Multiple systems are dependent on the internet, so all of the school's buildings were affected, Superintendent Kathryn Powers said. There was no access Monday to any of the school's buildings.

    "Infrastructure in the district is set up such that internet, phones, fire alarms, suppression systems, and HVAC rely on the internet," she said. "Our buildings are networked together and the high school houses the servers. Due to the damage at Twinsburg High School, the servers are currently inoperable as the power supply has been damaged by the lightning strike."

    Students who attend the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center will be transported to and from CVCC as usual, Powers said. Twinsburg High School seniors in Senior Experience should still plan to go to their job site as previously scheduled. Private and parochial school transportation will also be provided tomorrow. Transportation for the THS Broadcast Journalism students and the RBC Electric Orchestra who are attending the State of the Schools Address on Tuesday will also be provided, as previously scheduled.

    The Twinsburg High School students scheduled to take the AP exams on Tuesday for Microeconomics, Human Geography will take these assessments at SS Cosmas & Damian School as scheduled. Students who do not have transportation available should email the transportation office at transportationoffice@twinsburgcsd.org before 7 a.m. on Tuesday or call the transportation office at 330-486-2348 for arrangements.

    In addition, the following activities have rescheduled:

    • The RBC Band Concert is rescheduled for 7 p.m. May 20 in the auditorium at Twinsburg High School;
    • The TCSD Equity Steering Committee Meeting is rescheduled for 6 p.m. May 13 in the Large Group Instruction Room at Twinsburg High School.

    According to the city, the Twinsburg Fitness Center also is closed Tuesday. The center is tentatively scheduled to reopen Wednesday.
