Police investigating homicide after man found dead near 11th and Garnett, arrest warrant issued

TULSA, Okla. — An arrest warrant has been issued in a homicide investigation after a man was found dead at an encampment in east Tulsa on Sunday.

Police are looking for Todd Hibner, 56, who's wanted for first degree murder. Hibner was last seen near 11th and Garnett, where the victim was found.

According to the Tulsa Police Department (TPD), they were called out around 7 p.m. Sunday for a possible body found in the woods by an encampment near 11th and Garnett.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound.

The Tulsa Police Department said a body was found near 11th and Garnett on Sunday.

TPD said it was initially unclear if the man died from suicide or homicide. Homicide detectives were called out and investigated it as a suspicious death.

The Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide and police named Hibner as the suspect.

Anyone with information about Hibner’s whereabouts should call 911 Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677).

Police said this is the 17th homicide of 2024.
