Strong Cold Front Brings 40 to 55 MPH Wind Gusts and Brief Spin Up Tornadoes to St. Louis, Carbondale, Evansville, Clarksville and Jackson, Tennessee
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI — A strong cold front is set to sweep across the Mid-Mississippi Valley and lower Ohio Valley on Tuesday evening, November 3, bringing a line of storms capable of 40 to 55 mph wind gusts and brief spin-up tornadoes. The threat covers parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee, including St. Louis, Carbondale, Evansville, Clarksville and Jackson, Tennessee. Because the cold front is so strong, widespread gusty winds are expected even outside the storms. Simulated radar for 7 p.m. CST Tuesday shows a long, intense line of storms stretching from Peoria and Springfield, Illinois south through St. Louis, Poplar Bluff and Jonesboro, Arkansas.
