CHARLESTON, West Virginia – West Virginia is heading into November with temperatures climbing into the 70s around Charleston, but a return of showers by midweek comes as NOAA's extended outlooks suggest wetter-than-normal conditions could develop later in the month, raising early questions about Thanksgiving holiday travel and the possibility of rain or snow.
Howdy all! We are expecting rain to move into Southern West Virginia later on tonight, with many of us waking up to damp conditions starting tomorrow morning. This is going to be just good ole’ fashioned rain- nothing significant or severe. I expect anywhere from a few hundreths of an inch to about a tenth of an inch or so if we see some pockets of more persistent rain. Its folks across the southern half of the region, such as the Southern Coal Fields and south of Oak Hill that are more likely to see some rain tonight. Areas north look to remain drier.
A cold front could bring widespread rain from Pennsylvania to Virginia after two weeks of dry weather.
