Trout Run, Pa. — A 40-year-old woman of Trout Run was killed Monday when her vehicle went off a windy mountain road and down an embankment in Gamble Township.

Maralea A. Cook died as a result of injuries from the crash around 3:15 p.m. May 6, according to Trp. Thomas Spagnuolo of state police at Montoursville. Police say Cook was traveling north in a 2013 BMW when she lost control of a vehicle on Sugar Camp Road as she was negotiating a left curve near the intersection with Chaapel Mountain Road. The vehicle hit a tree and then went down a steep embankment.

The Lycoming County Coroner's Office and Willing Hand Hose Co. #1 assisted at the scene.
